The Artist's Palate - 1

When I actively started creating this, I couldn’t figure out what to call it or which form of content to present it. After figuring a couple things out with the gifs, I realized it’d be most efficient to make this a video. After I created the meat & potatoes (no pun) of the video, I thought about the word palette/palate and what they actually mean by definition:

pal·ate [ˈpalət/]

• a person's appreciation of taste and flavor, especially when sophisticated and discriminating/

• synonyms: (sense of) taste, appetite, stomach "menus to suit the tourist palate"

pal·ette [ˈpalət/]

• a thin board or slab on which an artist lays and mixes colors.

• "he commands the sort of tonal palette that this music needs"

• (in computer graphics) the range of colors or shapes available to the user.

After considering these wordplay elements, the relatable elements of the Dinner Land brand (flavor, good taste, dinner, etc), and also realizing that I can make this project all encompassing, I decided to expand on the video a little and ‘The Artist’s Palate’ was born. Each of the 16 videos will be a little different in the beginning & under 1 minute long with a different track each video to convey a variety of moods over the course of this season.
